In the Tradition

The very word taila comes from tila, sesame, and classical texts call sesame oil the best of all oils.

Most classical medicated oils are cooked in a sesame base, because its subtle quality is said to carry herbs deep into the tissues.

Daily abhyanga with warm sesame oil is part of the dinacharya in the Samhitas.

Our sesame comes from the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh.

Til Tailam is the base in which we cook our classical oils, according to the protocol of each.
